Hello there guys,
After the most recent Windows 10 update I couldn't get my DS4Windows/Inputmapper to run in 'Exclusive mode' to save my life, I've tried turning any applications such as Steam and GoG Client off and it would STILL say that it cannot run it.
So after some digging, I've found a solution which at least worked for me and hopefully anyone who has been having this problem as well. To save time, if you can go on YouTube right now, there's a video the Inputmapper channel uploaded on 3rd of August with the title of the video being, 'Windows 10 Dualshock 4 Inputmapper/DS4Windows Exclusive mode fix!' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsfsTfZnPh8) but for those who are currently preoccupied, I'll briefly explain.
1.) Turn Steam and etc off. Also make sure Inputmapper/DS4Windows is NOT running. 2.) If you are using wired ds4, plug your ds4 in. If using Bluetooth, don't do anything yet. 3.) Go to 'Device Manager' on Windows and look for 'Human Interface Devices'. 4.) This part may differ if you are using wired/bluetooth Either Disable 'Bluetooth HID Device' (if using Bluetooth) or 'HID-compliant game controller' (if using Wired) via right clicking on the aforementioned option 5.) Wait for the Device Manager to refresh and once it does, simply re-enable it via same method 6.) Run DS4Windows/Inputmapper and connect your DS4 again! And it should work! Enjoy!
TL;DR Click on the link and it'll show you a method (as well as an app that runs through this automatically) to run 'Exclusive Mode' after the most recent Windows 10 update!
Hello everybody!
Welcome to the Daily Question Thread! In this thread, all of your Switch-related questions can be asked and answered. Besides questions, feel free to post unboxing videos and pictures here (eventually) so it doesn't back up the main subreddit page.
You may also get an answer more quickly by asking in the #switch-help channel of our Discord server.
Frequently Asked Questions - This is a great place to check first hand if you run into any problems or if you have any unclear thoughts. Our FAQ has answers to many questions regarding the console itself, controllers, and other subjects. We're also updating our wiki with the top questions from this thread each week!
Games list for Nintendo Switch - In this page, you will find tables of confirmed, planned, uncertain, and rumored games coming to the Switch.
Since it's not completely obvious as to what questions you should ask and which ones you shouldn't, here are a few examples of frequently asked questions:
Is now the time to buy a Switch?
Which games can you recommend me?
What features does the Switch have?
What controllers work with this game?
If your questions can be easily answered, or has a yes or no answer, it most likely belongs here. Now then, get busy asking us your questions!
There's also a very small category of things not to ask about.
Can I get a free game?
Is there a way to hack my Switch?
These are against our rules. Once a homebrew scene has had a chance to develop, we will invite you all to discuss those sorts of things over there.
As always, remember Rule 1: Remember the human, and be polite when you answer/ask questions.
